Dr. Paul D. Froula is a highly regarded ophthalmologist and premier LASIK surgeon in the region who has significantly improved the vision and quality of life for thousands of patients. He has been a dedicated member of University Eye Specialists since 1992 and has developed a loyal patient base that now includes second-generation family members. Dr. Froula’s commitment to patient care and the clinic’s reputation as a leading practice in the region were what drew him to the organization, and he has remained there ever since.

Dr. Froula received his medical degree from the James H. Quillen College of Medicine at East Tennessee State University, completed his residency in ophthalmology at the Mayo Clinic in Minnesota prior to joining University Eye Specialists. He finds his work particularly gratifying as he has the opportunity to help people with impaired vision regain their sight, thanks to advanced technology.

Dr. Froula’s expertise in LASIK surgery has earned him a reputation as the premier LASIK surgeon in the region. He uses state-of-the-art equipment and techniques to help patients achieve clear vision and reduce their dependence on glasses and contacts. His patients appreciate the excellent care they receive and the results they experience.

In his free time, Dr. Froula enjoys spending time with his wife, Dana, and their three adult children, Ryan, Jessica, and Andrew. They enjoy family activities and trips to the beach. Dr. Froula has a passion for biking, golf, and gardening. The family also enjoys their three miniature schnauzers, Presley (a rescue from Memphis), Casper, and J.J.

Dr. Froula is an active member of the International Medical Alliance of Tennessee, which provides medical mission work overseas. He takes great pride in giving back to the community and helping those in need.
