Dr. Robert (Gene) Price is originally from Memphis, Tennessee.  He received his Bachelor of Science in 1981 from Christian Brothers College in Memphis, Tennessee graduating summa cum laude. He then received his M.D. degree from ETSU in Johnson City, Tennessee in 1985. Dr. Price completed his internship and residency in ophthalmology in Memphis, Tennessee, and his fellowship in glaucoma at the University of Louisville in Kentucky. Dr. Price is a board-certified ophthalmologist who specializes in glaucoma and cataract surgery.

Dr. Price opened his Knoxville Practice in 1991 where he has performed thousands of cataract and glaucoma procedures. Joining University Eye Specialists in January of 2022, Dr. Price’s meticulous attention to detail and compassionate patient care has added a tremendous value to the group. Dr. Price is currently accepting new patients.
